Living Skills Programs

We offer a variety of adaptable living skills sessions and programs for
for children and adults with disabilities. These include hands-on learning experiences through horses, farm and pet animals, nature-based activities and crafts. These are all designed to support skill development, build confidence and promote the well-being of every individual participant, whatever their capability.
The Farm Program for young people with disabilities transitioning from school has it's own page here.

Some examples of program and session focus areas:
-
interpersonal communication
-
self-esteem building
-
decision making
-
self-advocacy
-
emotional regulation
-
improving fine or gross motor skills
-
building the capacity to focus

All sessions are tailored to the needs of the individual/s attending and are delivered either in one-to-one or small group sessions as appropriate.
Ruth (the owner of Catalyst Living Skills) aims to make every session fun and accessible, using her extensive skills developed through her previous career as a specialist teacher working with students with disabilities and her current work as an equine assisted therapist and counsellor.
Sessions may be based indoors in the classroom or outside with the animals, in the nature-play or bushland areas of the property, allowing sessions to run all year round whatever the weather.
